The Long Transition

From San Juan to St. Thomas to Tortola; a planes, trains and automobile experience. We “celebrated” thanksgiving in St. Thomas, meaning we found on of the few open places in an otherwise deserted waterfront town. The above pic is the main street shopping areas that caters to style cruise ship masses.

St. Thomas was a short pass-through stop for us, so none of it mattered much. We woke up Friday to the ever present cacophony of roosters strutting their stuff. Why this has to happen at 3am – I do not care to find out. This is becoming a recurring thing for Debbie and me- apparently wherever we go we must stay with livestock just out the door. Sorry, no rooster photos this time.

We found breakfast and island hotsauce. A homemade spicy liquid with each bottle getting progressively hotter with an additional layer of ghost peppers. Deb did not think the “mild” was appropriately named.

We made a short walk to the ferry where we enjoyed breakfast cocktails overlooking the bay (Deb’s first Painkiller), grabbed a beer (for the ferry) and motored one beautiful hour to the BVI’s.

Next stop, a couple days in Tortola.
